Desert Safari Price in Dubai: What You Pay and Why

By Lead Adventure Tour 3 min read

If you search for a desert safari in Dubai you will see prices from under AED 100 to several thousand dirhams. The difference is not random: it comes from a few clear choices. This guide explains each one, with the prices on our website at the time of writing. Always check the tour page for today's price and what is included.

The short answer

  • A shared 4-hour morning or evening safari without the camp starts from AED 95 per person.
  • A shared evening safari with BBQ dinner at the desert camp starts from AED 130 per person.
  • Adding a 30-minute quad bike or dune buggy ride raises the price, and a private vehicle is priced per vehicle instead of per person.

What changes the price

1. Shared or private

In a shared safari you travel in a 4x4 with other guests and pay per person. A private option gives your group its own vehicle and is priced per vehicle, so it costs more in total. For a couple the shared option is usually the best value. For a larger group, compare the shared price multiplied by your group size with the private price.

2. How long the safari is and what it includes

The 4-hour safari covers the dune drive, sandboarding and a camel ride, but does not include the camp. The 7-hour evening safari adds the sunset, a BBQ dinner at the camp and traditional entertainment. More time and more included means a higher price.

3. Dinner and a VIP table

At the camp you can choose the standard seating or a VIP table. On our website the BBQ safari starts from AED 130 per person, and the same safari with a VIP table starts from AED 165 per person.

4. Quad bike or dune buggy

A self-drive quad bike or dune buggy ride is an extra. On the 4-hour safari, adding a 30-minute quad bike ride brings the shared price to AED 132 per person at the time of writing. A dune buggy ride costs more because the vehicle is more powerful. See our guide to quad bike vs dune buggy for the difference.

5. Morning, evening or sunrise

The time of day also changes what is offered. The sunrise safari includes an Arabic breakfast and starts from AED 185 per person for the shared option.

How to get the best value

  1. Decide what matters most. If you want the dunes and the photos, the 4-hour safari is enough. If you want dinner and the show, choose the evening safari.
  2. Compare what is included, not only the price: dinner, camel ride, sandboarding, pickup and drop-off.
  3. Check the pickup area. Hotel pickup is included on most options; see the pickup areas.
  4. Read the cancellation terms. You receive a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the tour; see our cancellation policy.
