You can enjoy a desert safari in Dubai throughout the year, but the best time depends on the season and the time of day. Here is a simple guide.
The short answer
- The cooler months, roughly October to April, are the most comfortable for any safari.
- In the hotter months, choose the sunrise or evening safari, when the temperature is lower, and drink plenty of water.

Cooler months (roughly October to April)
The days are pleasant and the evenings can be cool. This is the most popular season, so it is wise to book early for weekends and holidays. Bring a light layer for the evening at the camp.
Hotter months (roughly May to September)
Daytime temperatures in the desert are very high. The desert is still enjoyable early in the morning or in the evening, when it is cooler. Wear light clothes, sunglasses and sun protection, and drink water regularly.
